| TopSites TopSites Lists are a type of banner exchange where, normally, you display a button banner on your site advertising the top list you are on. When someone clicks on that button banner, they are taken to a list of sites. This list is ordered by popularity of the individual site. Popularity is calculated by either the number of clicks the banner receives from the TopSites List or by the number of votes given to the site by the individual site's visitors. Although some TopSites Lists will vary slightly in the way it functions, they all basically serve the same purpose - to generate traffic to your site and to the TopSites List. If you decide to market your site through TopSites Lists, you will need to make sure your site is marketed on appropriate lists. For example, if you sell cloth diapers, you should make sure you exchange traffic with TopSites Lists that are for cloth diapering or cater to the same people who use cloth diapers. However, if you would like to start your own TopSites Lists, you may want to use the free service with GoTop100.com, which would be hosted off of your individual site.
